Levels of Care

Residents have many different needs. Before deciding on which accommodation may best suit your loved one, we are pleased to provide descriptions of three different levels of care: Skilled Care, Intermediate Care and Respite Care.

Skilled Care

A Skilled Care unit provides the highest level of medical supervision in addition specialized nursing and rehabilitation services. This level of care is usually prescribed by your physician at the time ov evaluation. Services offered by a skilled care unit may include: special feeding therapies, injections, and dressing changes. In addition, the services of a physical, occupational, or speech therapist to improve funcional levels may be ordered.

Intermediate Care

An Intermediate Care unit provides the same medical, nursing and rehabilitative services as a Skilled Care Unit, but an Intermediate Care unit is geared toward residents requiring less intensive care than provided by the skilled facilities. Residents living in an Intermediate Care unit are typically not ready for transition to independent living.

Respite Care

Respite Care is a short-term care program for those people requiring observation, assistance with the activities of daily living, or skilled nursing care, normally provided in the home. This service is provided for up to one month at a time.
